Vivieno Caldinelli is a Toronto/LA-based filmmaker exclusively directing and writing comedy, horror, horror-comedy, and comedy-horror. Over the past 15 years, he's managed to apply his childhood obsessions, fears, and rare comedic vision into becoming an award-winning director.
Vivieno just finished directing the dark romantic comedy feature, SEVEN STAGES starring: Kate Micucci, Sam Huntington, Dan Harmon, Mark McKinney, Maria Bamford, Dana Gould, Jon Dore, Rhea Seahorn, and Taika Waititi. The movie is slated for a theatrical release this late fall of 2019 and produced by Company X (Elijah Wood, Daniel Noah, and Josh C. Waller) and MarVista Entertainment.
While Viv's talents span both narrative TV, and feature films, he is one of Canada's premier sketch comedy directors, working with some of the most successful comedians and troupes in the world. On Facebook and YouTube his sketches for Canadian comedy institution, THIS HOUR HAS 22 MINUTES (CBC) have over a combined 40 Million views. Also of which, Vivieno directed the last five seasons of the prime-time comedy hit.
In the years prior, Vivieno directed the MacDonald Hall Trilogy of feature films: GO JUMP IN THE POOL, THIS CAN'T BE HAPPENING AT MACDONALD HALL and THE WIZZLE WAR. The trilogy is streaming on NETFLIX. On the TV front, Vivieno was a director/executive producer on the fresh new half-hour sketch comedy pilot HUMANTOWN for CBC and directed the epic 2-part episode of the Emmy Award-winning series ODD SQUAD guest staring The Kids In The Hall.
In addition, Vivieno was a producer/director respectively on Canadian television sketch-comedy cult hits; HOTBOX and PICNICFACE with Executive Producer Mark McKinney. Both shows continue to find loyal new audiences on Hulu, CraveTV (Canada)... And probably Pirate Bay.
